The “Ultimate Game of Thrones” Tag

Hey, lovelies. Happy Friday!

I don’t typically take part in ‘tag’ posts, as I have a hard time keeping up with my own schedule alone, but I could not resist when Kat suggested that I take part in this Game of Thrones tag! If you haven’t guessed already, from the multitude of Game of Thrones posts that I’ve shared, I’m a huge fan – I definitely couldn’t let this opportunity pass by!

Like a lot of blog awards and tag posts, there are a few simple rules:

  1. Mention the creator Orang-utan Librarian so they can see all your your answers.
  2. Answer all the questions.
  3. Tag people and keep it going!

Let’s get started! I hope you enjoy my answers.

Part One: Book Questions

“We do not sow”- A book you would not be willing to invest in:

Something utterly terrifying, like The Exorcist. I don’t believe in curses but I wouldn’t ever risk the fear with a story as frightening as this. I’m such a big baby when it comes to horror.

“Fire and blood”- A book that produced strong emotions in you:

The first novel that came to mind was The Fault in Our Stars. I had never cried as much at a book as much as this before (with Eclipse coming in a close second, actually). It destroyed me and I instantly watched the movie trailer once I’d stopped crying. I completely crumpled once again. It’s soul destroying – I didn’t want to leave Matthew’s side afterwards.

“Winter is coming”- Your favourite winter read:

I don’t have a particular book that I read in the winter, really. I don’t have a thing for seasonal reads but last year I did read Let It Snow. It was enjoyable and it made me feel quite festive!

“Family. Duty. Honour.”- A book about strong family ties:

Easy – The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It’s an incredible story about the strength of familial love combined with the intensity and excitement of a post-apocalyptic story. I loved it.

“Growing strong”- A book you had low expectations of but that grew on you:

This is an interesting one! I recently finished The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes and I fell in love. It easily made its way on to my favourites list. I didn’t have high hopes at all though! I thought it would be a lot like The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger which I despised. I was completely wrong though, just wow, it was fantastic.

“Ours is the fury”- A book that made you furious:

Either The Catcher in the Rye or A Clockwork Orange. I finished The Catcher in the Rye out of pure principle. I didn’t want keyboard warriors telling me how uneducated I was for not grasping the point or missing the twist/revelation at the end of the novel (spoiler, there was none). I just plain old couldn’t finish A Clockwork Orange – what a pile of crap.

“Unbowed. Unbent.Unbroken.”- A book you have unwavering devotion to:

This is such a tough one… I automatically thought of The Hunger Games trilogy as it completely reignited my love for reading. It never went away after that.

“A Lannister always pays his debts”- A book you feel indebted to:

You’re Never Weird on the Internet by Felicia Day. Absolutely. I love her. She’s incredibly strong and has come so far in a male-dominated industry. Reading how she overcame the abuse was awful but completely empowering. What a brilliant woman.

Part Two: Fan Theories

Who do you want to win Game of Thrones?

“Win” is a weird word. In the end, I would love Dany or Jon to rule the Iron Throne (or the more appropriate equivalent) with Tyrion by their side.

Who do you think will make it to the end and who do you think will die?

I imagine a lot of our favourites are going to die in the next couple of seasons… sadly. I’m thinking we’re going to lose Brienne, Arya, Ramsay (fingers crossed!), Cersei and Tommen (if he doesn’t choose to step down as king). I can’t imagine Game of Thrones without Jon, Dany and Tyrion though!

Part Three: My Game of Thrones

Would you win or die?

I actually think I’d survive. I’m insanely stubborn and I just can’t see how I’d die. If it did happen, I think it would be at the hands of Ramsay after being captured and tortured for supporting the Stark’s North. The North remembers!

What house are you?

I’d like to think I’m a Stark, but I’ve love to be a Targaryen!

I’d love anyone who enjoys Game of Thrones to join in! It’s fun to take part in.

  1. Wahey!! I’m so excited whenever anyone does this and to meet another GOT fan!!! Ah I’m a big baby about anything scary too! Ooh the Road is a good pick! I liked Catcher in the Rye, but if you didn’t that’s totally fine- it’s not my favourite book or anything- and even if it was you’re entitled to your opinion! I guess I just loved hating Holden Caulfield (weird I know) and thought it was a good representation of teenagehood. Yeah it is a weird word, but then Cersei (who said it) is a weird person! That is what I want for the end too. Ahh yes- I agree with you on the deaths- arya’s gonna make it to the last series (George R R Martin promised his wife) but after that I’m sure you’re right, sadly. let’s hope Ramsay dies soon though!! *High five* I’m a targaryen too!!

    • It’s such a good tag :D. The Road is one of my favourite books so I just had to include it :).
I really tried to love Holden but I absolutely despised him and the way he was written :’).
I’m glad Arya could survive for a bit longer. I do love her. I can imagine her death will be a super sad one, but that’s the curse of the Starks!
