My first two-tiered cake! It’s not perfect but it’s pretty and tasty!
Two of my 101 Things in 1001 Days challenges were to bake a two-tiered cake and to bake a birthday cake – I merged them and ticked off both challenges with a 2-tiered birthday cake for my brother’s girlfriend’s 21st birthday!
I followed this recipe for an all-in-one vanilla sponge cake, and it was very tasty and very simple to follow. I made a batch of simple butter cream to coat both tiers, added a thick layer to the top tier and covered the larger layer in white chocolate fingers. I added lots of pink, glitter and sparkles too for the very girly birthday girl. I kept the top-tier a bit messy looking, so that if it didn’t come out perfectly straight it looks like it was on purpose… good thinking, Morgan.
Do I have any keen baker followers? I’m a newbie, but I love it.
